What is your research question? You should have no more than two research questions. If you have two research questions, these two should be closely related.

• Why is the research question important?

What are the related works? How you position your work in the literature (e.g., how you get inspired by existing work, what problem existing work cannot solve, how you expand the knowledge base).

What is your solution? What do you plan to do?

What is your evaluation method.

• What is the baseline (if applicable)?
• What are your hypotheses (2-3 points)?
• What type of result can verify your hypotheses?

What are your goals? I recommend you separate the project into 3 stages. The first is the minimum you can accomplish by the end of the semester (be very conservative). The second is what you hope you can accomplish by the end of the semester (be very realistic). The third is how you can extend this work into a paper after the course finishes (be very ambitious).
